Director's Message

I invite participants, sponsors and valuable guests to the Amity Competition on Law Reforms to be held on 30th January to 1st February, 2013 at Amity Law School. With a galaxy of jurists and practitioners to be present in the event, it would indeed be an academically rewarding event of our school.

Devoted to a theme that has always been a matter of discussion and attention among the politicians, defence forces, high end industrialists and most importantly the citizens of country, the law related to terrorism has come to occupy centre stage of security jurisprudence. The matter of security threats is a serious challenge to every country. From Mumbai blast, Best Bakery case, Delhi serial blasts, the attack on Parliament and 26/11 Mumbai blasts, India has faced risks to its security and lives of its people. The time has come to bring about a reform in the anti-terrorism laws.  It has become important to review our legal regime so that it can effectively deal with such activities. The solutions have to be practical. The need to bring change is necessary in both procedural law as well as substantive law. Youth is the voice of nation and having regard to this we have planned this exercise in law making. This competition emerges as a platform of articulating our thoughts to the environment.

I extend my best wishes and warm welcome to all the participants of this competition. The Organizing Team of our Law School is committed to make this grand event a success so as to leave cherished memories for future.
